Google now answers a lot of searches before you even click a link. For certain searches, mostly the ones where someone’s looking for an explanation or a comparison, Google shows an AI-generated summary right at the top of the results page, above the usual blue links. That’s the AI Overview, and it pulls information from several sources at once instead of sending the searcher to just one page.
AI Overviews tracking means checking whether your website is one of the sources that gets pulled into that summary. It’s a different question from your regular search ranking. Google doesn’t just grab whatever’s sitting in position one. It looks at specific passages across many pages and picks whichever ones answer the question best. That means a page ranking outside the top ten can still get cited, and a page ranking first can get skipped entirely.
That gap matters because AI Overviews show up on a large share of searches now, and getting cited inside one tends to bring in more clicks than not being cited at all. If you’re only watching your position on the results page, you’re missing a real part of what’s happening on that page.
Type it the way people actually search for it.
A couple of named competitors gives you a direct comparison. Skip this and we'll usually surface them anyway based on who's cited instead of you.
Not every search triggers one, so we test the specific queries that matter to your business and note which ones do.
Which searches show an AI Overview, whether you're cited in it, and who's cited instead of you.

That’s what the free report tells you. Citation and ranking are two different things, so this checks the one that actually shows up in the summary.
Some do, some don’t. We flag which of your target searches currently show one at all, so you’re not chasing a summary that isn’t there.
