How It Works

See how Track My Visibility takes you from questions to clear AI visibility insights in a few simple, guided steps to help you start tracking.

Step 1: Add Your Website

To begin tracking AI visibility, you’ll first need to add your website to the tool. This step ensures that all citations and mentions are tied directly to your brand’s domain.

Enter Your Domain

Type in your primary website domain (e.g., example.com). This tells the system which property to monitor for AI visibility.

Add Brand Domains

If your brand uses multiple domains or subdomains (e.g., brand.com, shop.brand.com), you can mention them to track across variations of your site.

Select AI Models

Choose which AI models you’d like to run visibility checks against: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity. You can select one, several, or all four, as per your requirements.

To begin tracking, start by adding the prompts you want to track. With Track My Visibility, you get flexibility to bulk import or generate prompts based on your goals, audience, and tracking needs.

Write a Custom Prompt

When you want to test a specific search, you can create a single query. Just type your question and run it to the tool. This is the simplest way to check if your brand gets mentioned or cited in AI answers.

Generate Target Prompts

When onboarding a website, Track My Visibility helps generate relevant prompts based on your target topics. You can then review, edit, and move ahead with the prompts you want to track.

Upload Prompts in Bulk

If you already have a list of prompts, you can upload them in bulk instead of entering them one by one. Paste your queries as plain text or CSV and import them in seconds. This makes it easy to test prompts at once.

After your prompts are created, the next step is to run them across all supported AI platforms. Track My Visibility will process each query and gather responses your selected AI platforms.

Run Prompts with One Click

Select your queries and hit Run. This pushes your prompts to selected AI models at once without needing you to test them separately.

Allow Time for Processing

It can take a few minutes for dashboard to populate with results During this time, Track My Visibility runs your prompts in selected AI models, verifies, and stores responses so you can explore reliable visibility data.

After your prompts have been processed, you can dive into the dashboard. This step reveals how AI engines actually mention or cite your brand (or competitors) and which URLs are cited in AI responses.

Check Citation Per Model

See which AI platforms are citing your brand and which ones are not. Compare visibility data across AI models to understand where your brand has strong visibility and where it needs improvement.

Check Ranking Positions & URLs

Review where your brand appears in AI answers and which URLs are being cited. A higher position means stronger visibility, while cited URLs show which pages AI engines trust most for that prompt.

Spot Competitor Mentions

Alongside your own URLs, you’ll also see which competitor domains are being cited or mentioned. These gaps show where you may need stronger content, better comparisons, more third-party mentions, or improved page authority.

Once prompts start running, use the Sources section to see which URLs and domains AI models cite, including your site, competitors, and third-party sources.

Review Cited URLs

See the exact pages AI models cite in response to your tracked prompts. You can check how many answers included each URL, its citation usage percentage, whether it belongs to your site or a competitor, and which AI models mentioned it.

Compare Domains AI Trusts

Switch to Domain View to understand which websites are being cited most often at a broader level. This helps you spot high-influence domains, competitor citation strength, and third-party sources that may be shaping AI answers in your market.

Analyze Sources by Prompt

Use Prompt View to see which sources appear for each specific query. This helps you understand why your brand appears for some prompts, why competitors appear for others, and which content or source gaps need to be fixed.

Along with providing visibility data, Track My Visibility turns your prompt results, source data, and competitor activity into clear opportunities, showing what to improve on your site and where visibility gaps exist.

See What to Fix

Each recommendation comes with a type of action (e.g., Improve Meta, Add Schema, Create Comparison Page) so you know exactly where you need to improve for that certain URL.

Check Priority & Effort

Recommendations are labeled by severity (low, medium, high) and effort level (low, medium, high). This makes it easy to decide what should be fixed first based on impact versus effort.

Understand the Rationale

Every suggestion includes a short explanation of why it matters, for example, missing meta descriptions, unclear H1s, or opportunities to build comparison pages when competitors dominate certain queries.

Apply & Refresh

Once you make improvements on your site, hit “Refresh” to update results. Over time, it will help check if the changes boosted your AI-readiness and visibility.

Once your prompts are running, the Overview Dashboard gives you a clear snapshot of your AI visibility. You can track brand performance, compare competitors, monitor trends, and spot the prompts where your brand is winning or missing.

Track Overall LLM Visibility

See the percentage of tracked prompts where your brand appears in AI responses. This helps you understand how often AI platforms mention your brand across your selected prompt set.

Review Avg. Position & Sentiment

Check where your brand appears in AI answers and how positively it is described. A lower average position means your brand is mentioned earlier, while sentiment shows the quality of that mention.

Compare Performance by AI Model

See how your brand performs across platforms like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity. Use this to identify which models cite you often and which ones need improvement.

Monitor Prompt Coverage

Review how many prompts mention your brand, how many do not, and where your brand ranks #1. Prompts where you are missing are key visibility gaps to work on.

Identify Competitor Gaps

Use the Top Competitors and Competitive Gap Analysis sections to see which competitors appear where your brand does not. These gaps help guide content, source, and optimization priorities.

Track Visibility Trends Over Time

Use the visibility and sentiment chart to monitor progress across your selected date range. This helps you see whether your updates are improving AI visibility over time.
