Claude is more careful than most assistants about naming names. Ask a broad question and it will often talk through how to weigh the options rather than firing off ten brands. When it does name companies, it names a short list, and it sticks to ones it can describe confidently.
That changes what you’re measuring. On a platform naming ten tools per answer, showing up is easy and means less. On Claude, showing up at all is a stronger signal and being absent is a clearer problem. What gets you on that list has less to do with size than people expect, and more to do with being described the same way consistently by sources other than you.
Your brand name and domain. Consistency matters here, so use the name you actually go by in public.
The category questions your buyers ask. Claude responds well to specific, well-framed questions, so these can be more detailed than you'd use on a search engine.
Same questions, run more than once, because a single answer isn't a pattern.
Whether you're named, who's named alongside you, and which questions leave you out entirely.
